The Young & Established Community Center is a safe and nurturing space designed to help children thrive. Our after-school program offers tutoring, mentorship, and a positive environment for kids to complete homework, develop life skills, and grow in confidence. The Creative Center provides an outlet for youth to explore their talents in art, music, writing, and design, empowering them to express themselves and reach their potential. Through these programs and more, we strive to foster creativity, build self-worth, and offer vital guidance, ensuring every child has the resources to succeed in school and life.

The Creative Center offers a space for youth to explore their artistic talents in areas like music, art, writing, and design, encouraging self-expression and creativity in a supportive environment.
After School Program
Our after-school program provides kids with a positive space to receive tutoring, mentorship, and life skills training, helping them complete homework and build the foundation for future success.
Garden Center
While our community center has a small garden for hands-on learning, we are excited to expand with Grandaddy’s Garden Spot, offering even more opportunities for children to connect with nature and learn about growing food.

THE BACKSTORY

Turning Waste into Hope: The Start of Y&E's Food Drive

Courtney Johnson noticed something troubling at his local Walmart—perfectly good food was being thrown away simply because there wasn’t enough room for it. Determined to make a change, he spent six weeks persistently asking why this food was going to waste and how it could be put to better use. Through his unwavering dedication, Courtney finally convinced Walmart to allow him to give the surplus food back to the community instead. Since then, with the help of Y&E’s incredible volunteers, this weekly food drive has served over 30,000 people, turning what was once waste into a vital resource for those in need.
